YouTube description formatter

YouTube Studio gives you a plain text box. Paste or write your description here, add bold, italics and lists, and see exactly how it will read before you publish. Then copy it to YouTube Studio with the formatting intact.

Free, no account Nothing is saved or sent anywhere

Format with the toolbar, or type Markdown by hand (e.g. **bold**). The Copy button converts it to YouTube’s own format, ready to paste into Studio.

Formatting is the easy part.
The full TubeThink editor writes, structures and saves your description, then formats and copies it just like this one.
Try TubeThink
Writes it for you Drafts the description from the video itself, so you start from a draft instead of a blank box.
Video Picker Pick videos from your channel to insert their links. No hunting down URLs and titles to copy and paste.
Templates Every video starts from a saved structure for its type, so descriptions stay consistent.
One-click headers Insert H1 to H3 headers from the toolbar. They’re the best-kept secret in YouTube descriptions.
Saved with the video Draft the description early and finalize it when the video is ready. Nothing clears when you close the tab.

What YouTube descriptions support

The YouTube Studio Description box uses a unique character system, not standard Markdown. The editor above accepts Markdown formatting and converts it for you on copy.

Questions

FAQ

Is this free?

Yes! We hope it helps you create videos more easily. No account, sign-up or limits are in place for using this tool.

Why doesn't YouTube Studio show the formatting as I type?

The description field in Studio is plain text. You type the symbols, and YouTube applies the formatting once the video is live. This editor shows you that result before you publish.

Is my description saved anywhere?

No. The editor runs in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent to a server, and closing the tab clears it.

How is this different from TubeThink?

This page formats a description but clears when you close the tab. In TubeThink, each description is saved with its video, so you can draft it early and finalize it when the video is ready. The editor also handles the writing and structure to make description writing fast and easy: it drafts the description from your video, inserts links to your own videos by picking them from your channel instead of copying URLs and titles by hand, starts from a template for the video type, and adds H1–H3 headers in a click. The formatting and one-tap copy work the same.
